Sukhvir Singh, India’s first ever Cricket Star is enjoying every bit of his celebrity status at Leicester. This village boy from Shahpur reached Leicester on June 1st. It has just been 13 days and Sukhvir has already had 3 press interviews, an invite to the Grand Silver Star Dinner and significant interactions with international Cricketers such as Stephen Fleming, Jeremy Snape, Chris Read & Paul Nixon.
Sukhvir Singh’s English is faltering but speaking through an interpreter for UK’s daily ‘The Times’, he talked of the dream opportunity he had been given. "I feel very honoured to be the first Cricket Star to come over here and I owe it to all those people who voted for me’. He also added "I want to make most of this chance that I have got’.
