The boys get tough as the countdown begins!

While the game against LCCC XI meant a first victory for the Cricket Star XI, in keeping with the format, four boys were picked for the danger zone. While Sukhvir and Amiteshwar came in for scathing criticism for their bowling, Mohammad Abbas and S Prabhu vehemently believed they did not deserve to be there. Having said that, both admitted they were not without flaws but they should be kept in perspective since they were two of the most consistent players at the Cricket Star Academy.

The boys also had the privilege of meeting India’s power fielder, Mohammad Kaif. Known for his electrifying and accurate fielding, Kaif is one of the most popular cricket icons in the country and the boys at the Academy had the opportunity to pick up on crucial fielding cues towards becoming betters fielders. In the cricketing test that followed, Praveth gave Kadir competition in bringing stumps down on a direct hit, but Kadir won in the end and had the opportunity to speak to Waqar Younis.

The boys had a different kind of challenge on their hands before their next match. Ice climbing was the new mountain to conquer. Apprehension was quite visible on their faces, but everyone had a go at it. While the instructor felt Abbas was not really giving it the seriousness it deserved, boys like Sukhvir took to it with exuberance. Completing the task under 30 seconds, he left little room for anyone to beat him. But he will need to do a lot more in the convincing department to ensure the boys still keep him in the hunt for the votes!
