Emerging Media launches Cricket Star Twenty20 Series III, the celebrated Cricket Talent Hunt
Mumbai, 31st May, 2008:
Emerging Media, the owners of the Jaipur IPL team, Rajasthan Royals today announced the launch of Cricket Star Twenty20 Series III. This is the third successful series of a nationwide talent hunt focused on discovering the next super star Twenty20 cricketer of India.
Mr. Manoj Badale, Chairman Emerging Media along with the Jaipur IPL Rajasthan Royals Captain & Coach Shane Warne unveiled the Cricket Star Twenty20 Series III trophy. Both Manoj Badale and Shane Warne will oversee the selection trials and the Cricket Star Academy which will be based in Jaipur, home to the Rajasthan Royals team. The boys chosen through Cricket Star will not only have a focused Academy stint but will also have the chance to interact, train and play with the Rajasthan Royals team. The finalists of Cricket Star Twenty20 will be awarded a contract for 2010 with the Rajasthan Royals.
This year Emerging Media introduces the Rajasthan Royals development academy which will help nurture the new talent. Shane Warne has seen a huge potential of talent in India during the IPL and along with Darren Berry and Jeremy Snape plan to develop this talent giving every young aspiring cricketer a chance to be part of the game.
Announcing the launch, Manoj Badale, Chairman Emerging Media said “The IPL tournament and our IPL team have done phenomenally well. We believe that Cricket Star Twenty20 Series III will continue to discover and nurture a new breed of specialist- Twenty20 cricketers. We had received applications from over 500 towns and cities across the country last season and we foresee a welcoming response yet again. ”
Commenting on his association with Cricket Star Twenty20, Shane Warne said “The youth are the future of any sport, and so is cricket. Cricket Star Twenty20 will help tapping the immense potential in the country and will train them to become cricketers of tomorrow. I am pleased to be associated with Cricket Star Twenty20 and will do my best to groom each participant to compete at an international level.”
This was followed by Manoj Badale presenting the Rajasthan Royals jersey to Shrideep Mangela, the winner of Cricket Star Twenty20 Series II.
About Cricket Star Twenty20 Series III
The applicants will be short listed by Emerging Media talent spotting teams and the aspiring applicants will be sent invitations to attend trials beginning on the xxxx. The contestants will be tested for their cricketing abilities. The selected contestants from each city will attend a boot camp at Jaipur where they will go through rigorous training on the Twenty20 format under the guiding hand of Shane Warne and Darren Berry and will compete with each other to be the next Cricket Star.
